Any refugees, dissidents or victims of the chistkas going on back at ZPW are welcome here. Where as far as this old anarchist is concerned you can spit on the mat and call the cat a bastard! That's the good news, the bad news is I've no bleeding idea what I'm doing here so I suppose I'd better read the rules of conduct an all that... But as far as I'm concerned it's liberty hall. set up a fight club, bring hookers home, leave your spare bike engine in the bathtub, whatever.
Enjoy.[Edit] suggestion, why don't we keep our handles and avatars, at least at first 'cos I don't no who anyone is otherwise. Oh look smileys... wow this is luxy aint it

Thank you Sir Frank!! The Zeeman planting wiki was getting pretty old! So who is on here this far that we know about?

You, Me and Jahadaz joined up when I set the place up. Weird innit were in ZPW's BOL. That's all I made the place for, just in case...
It's a 'proper' forum though, nested threads and sections, picture and video posting text and layout tools the whole nine yards

While I don't know how this particular board works a lot of the forums , most in fact, have all this slick stuff these days. this is the QuickReply bit at the bottom of any thread but if you can find the fullEditor reply button it'll have all the tools.
Often I fire off a quick reply like this then re-edit which also brings the text tools up, which is nice.

I just posted the following on ZPW's 'Conservative vs. Progressive the ZPW divide?' thread; "Don't like our rules? Think that they are unfair? Join a different f*cking wiki."
Good advice as usual LJ so the different f**king wiki is here;
zsdw.freeforums.net/
Which I set up as a fallback position during our technical difficulties (for which I was barely acknowledged or thanked, let alone the idea more than cursorily discussed) And it was just sat there unused...
What this amounts to, came up a bit over a year ago when some energetic 'frank exchanges of views' were locked down as undesirable. People were told various topics were verboten and threats made (N.b. I respond badly to threats!)
I suggested back then that another site could be opened where the restraints that people seem to feel necessary here on a theoretically 'educational' site would not apply. And where things could simply play themselves out and the consequences 'enjoyed' by all concerned : ) As with the backup site idea, the suggestion was simply ignored, fine...
Y'see I'm not convinced that authority and rulesare quite as vital to people going about their business and pursuing their interests as others here seem to. And as I've 'real-world' experience of people and groups getting by, quite nicely thank you, without them I think 'the different f**king wiki' is worth a try. (may change the name to just that actually)
Whats the worst that can happen, some people annoy one another? someone gets upset? The site doesn't thrive? Well Whoopy F**kin Doo It's just dots on a screen people!
A long long time ago I was part of large group of city squatters. We outgrew our buildings and were forced to split. A 'natural' division occurred, the people who felt comfortable with guidelines to follow, rules to obey and rotas etc. went in one direction and the 'anarchist' tendency went in another. The 'organized' group had a recording studio and we, the anarchists had a hot tub, They had beautifully cooked communal meals and we had a freezer full of 'liberated' food for anyone to help themselves to...
And both groups got along fine, exchanging members who found the other group better suited them and helping one another out when necessary. They invited us to lovely civilized dinner parties an we invited them to our wild raves. As I have said elsewhere as long as people have the freedom to chose what suits them differences ought not to be insurmountable, they should be enjoyed.
So if it helps try not to think of the ZSDW-ProBoards as competition. Think of it as partners, a colony (even a penal colony if you need to feel all superior) or just an experiment and if anyone want's to look in, try to remember it's just dots on a screen, eh, and that somewhere on your machine there is an OFF BUTTON. Which is pretty much where I'm coming from guys

Frank, what was the purpose of announcing/re-announcing/notifying the world of this alternative existence?

Because as I tried to imply in the ZPW comment, I don't think we 'have' to be hostile just because we have different aims or a different way of going about our business. I can't see that we need to be in competition, it's not as if there is some limited resource to be fought over... is there.
Unlike my London squats example where someone either 'lived' in one group or the other there is nothing to stop people being a contributing member here AND in ZPW, they just need to remember things may be done differently in both places.
Or were you interested in a more 'private' chatroom type facility? May I suggest you want darknet for that stuff, do you want me to set something up 'down there'? Can do if you want but it's all unstable, in flux all of the time and is pretty maintenance intensive. A darknet site/forum/chatroom will evaporate if no one uses it, quite quickly.
This is why I put the 'what do you want' question out there...

Just trying to gauge the intent of all concerned. Fragmentation, self-imposed division and isolationist tendencies have their place and I am attempting to determine applicability.
I fight for freedom, mostly mine.
I've seen this web layout/format before and it's slightly confusing/foreign to me.

I've seen this web layout/format before and it's slightly confusing/foreign to me. As it is to me, I'm accustomed to being a user in this sort of forum not running it. took me over an hour to find the button to give Slowride Admin control But no rush eh, and nothing, so far as I can tell that cannot be undone or deleted if we decide we don't like it.

I don't mind the layout, and at least this place has spell check!! Given time I think most of us should be able to adapt to it.

I don't know that I would've gone about it in that manner...but what is done is done, I can tell you that if they come here simply to flame this place or any of us...well if I can figure out how to swing the ban hammer I will do it with impunity.
