So here is a little scenario that I was thinking about doing on the other forum, but after my disdain at the target designation thread decided to hold off on.
May 26th, 2018 Somewhere in Zombie Nebraska
Here is the situation, the Zombies have risen and the ZPOC is in a stalemate. Humanity will not be wiped out, however half of the country has been overwhelmed and the survivors of the United States are huddled in the Rocky Mountain line. It has been decided by National Command Authority that the process to retake the country and put the Zombie plague down will begin. Now most males between the ages of 17-55, and about 40 percent of all females between the ages of 18-35 have been drafted into US Army Militia Battalions, to augment the Active and Reserve forces. Your in command of 1st Platoon, Alpha Company, 3rd Wyoming Light Infantry (Militia). Your mission is to help secure the fictional town of Peanut located in Nebraska. Your platoon has the task of clearing out all the buildings west of Grand Avenue as marked in red. Your SP is on the southern edge of the map and your mission is to make it to the northern edge of town and clear all buildings. You have a mix of personal homes, business establishments, and office buildings to clear. The Zombies your going after are the ones from 28 days later, very fast but body shots will take them down. They have been reports of a hostile band of raiders in the town as well, so you might have an armed group of 5-7 people hiding out in your area as well. The ROE states that you are weapons free, this town has to be cleared in order to pass the 2nd Brigade 4th ID through, so they can do bigger more important things.
Your Platoon is composed of the following. Three 7 Man rifle squads, which are composed of two fire teams Alpha and Bravo and a squad leader. You have the platoon HQ with the Platoon Leader, Platoon Sergeant, and the runner. Each person has at least three days worth of food and water, with various amounts of ammunition per person. As a gift the US Army gave you two M249's, five M72 LAW's, 16 M67 Fragmentation grenades, 5 MK 15 White Phosphorus grenades and 15 red star clusters. You also have the use of 3 US Army advisors for this time, if you wish to use them and their expertise. You have three days to train, reorganize, rehearse, and rest your platoon before Operation ORKIN kicks off. If you wish to make changes to your platoon organization you may do so. You have whistles and four working commercial grade radio's for your communications. You even have a pair of commercial gen 1 NOD's to use. You have two days to clear out your side of the town once the operation starts, and can expect very limited resupply, so be ready to scrounge to make ends meet.
HQ Section (3 Men) two AR-15's and a Mossberg 590 with two 9mm pistols and a .40 caliber pistol 1st Squad (7 Men) two AR-15's, two M1 Carbines, one Remington 870, one AR-10 and one SKS, three of them have 9mm pistols, 2 have .40 caliber pistols, and two have .45 pistols 2nd Squad (5 Men, 2 Females) three AR-15's, 2 Mini 14's and two Mossberg 500's, two .38 caliber pistols, two 9mm pistols and three .45 caliber pistols 3rd Squad ( 6 Men, 1 Female) three AR-15's, one Springfield Armory M1A, one Springfield M1 Garand, and two Remington 570's, with 4 9mm pistols, two .40 caliber pistols and one .44 Magnum.
I want you to tell me what your organization will be if you decide to change it up. How you will distribute your weapons and commo, and what you would do with your three days of prep time, and give me a rough idea of how your going to take your half the town down.
I did not do an OPORDER Format, because I am not sure how familiar folks would be trying to follow that style.

Crap, I gotta join the ARMY to get the job done?
What was the pre-zpoc pop of Peanut, NE? What is the estimated zed count?
I understand "various amounts of ammo" so I would standardize w/a min of three full loadings for each weapon: one full mag in gun, 2x reloads. I would establish a quartermaster to hold and allocate the 'surplus' (perhaps the advisory team) in addition to a op/tac planner as part of the command cell (commander, comm, log/qtrmaster, planner).
I presume we are standard infantry, w/no vehicles and operating alone? No support or reserve forces and this is a free-fire zone?

Pre event the population sign on the edge of the town was 243 people, expect that number to be reduced by about 30 to 50 percent. You are standard light infantry, no fire support is available as all those assets are going to the 2nd Brigade 4th ID since they are the main effort. You have no vehicles at your disposal either. This is a free fire zone but remember that 2nd Platoon is to your East clearing the other half of the town. The 3rd platoon is trying to reconstitute after suffering 40 percent casualties from clearing the last town, about the same size as Peanut. They can have a squad sized element available to reinforce you in about 24 hours. They ran into elements of the Raider group that might be hiding in the town and the fighting was pretty fierce. The raiders did manage to create a few homemade IED's. The rest of the Battalion is tasked out at the moment, Bravo company is securing a critical road junction to the West and has their hands full. Charlie Company is about 3 clicks East of you providing flank security, and to prevent any leakers from making it into Peanut.

Fuck it...I say we take off and nuke them from orbit it's the only way to be sure... We used a lot of B-61's on northern Mexico to seal of the boarder.

Apologies, I do intend to address this scenario seriously, however it is difficult to do so from my phone, I will attempt to reply this evening or sometime this weekend time permitting.

Well I need to tender even more apologies because I haven't a f**kin clue lads. Waaay out of my sphere of abilities and the only 'tactical view' I could offer would be hustle my Talons airborne and then prep the F/A18s for 'air to surface' and get them up and on the way... One of you guys give me a FAC? . . . . . . It's that or I bring a boomer up to launch depth and then it might as well be coming from orbit!
