Ok folks, we like guns and we tend to collect quite a few. This thread is going to be about the five you would have during the ZPOC!!! Now you are only allowed to have five and you must have one rifle, one shotgun, and one pistol!
For the rifle Category as it currently stands. I would bring my Remington 597 .22 which has a nice little 7 Power scope attached to it. This would be to use against small and medium sized game. Yes in the APOC I would drill a deer with it right between the ears if I had to.
For my battle rifle and primary means of intermediate range defense, I would bring along my Sig 556 Swat Patrol with attached EOTECH red dot. It is a very reliable firearm, that combines the accuracy of the AR series and the realibility of the AK series into one package. It also uses all standard AR-15 magazines which can be found in droves.
For the Shotgun category I am going to keep it quite simple
My Remington 870 Magnum is going with me. Nothing fancy about it, but I have two barrels for it. One is a 30 inch hunting barrel which can be used for small game/birds/waterfowl etc. The other barrel I have is an 18.5 inch police barrel for the up close and personal stuff. While my 870 is the Jack of all trade shotgun, master of none it is simple and reliable. I can use up to 3 inch shells which means the sky is the limit as far as loads are concerned! It was also made 16 years ago, before the quality of a lot of the pump action shotguns started to suffer.
For the Pistol Category
My primary sidearm is going to be my P226 Scorpion. It is chambered in 9mm and while not the most fearsome caliber it will get the job done with the right rounds to put through it. Besides it is a Sig and to say it is reliable would be an understatement.
My last firearm would be my M&P 9C. Why another 9mm hand gun you ask? Besides being compact and easily concealed if needed, my wife could can also manage to shoot it. She is not big into firearms, so something that she could have to protect herself and the kids are a must!! Also having a common caliber makes the logistics of this whole event easier to manage.
So what would your five be and why?
